Both are technically accurate (enough) renderings of Verne's French into the English language, but Towle's version is a tad smoother and easier to read than Frith's whose English syntax tends to be occasionally stilted and choppy. We also see the culmination of the fears Geary has had about the gates, and the suspected aliens, leading to an intense finale and ultimate showdown as the alliance approaches the borders of their home territory.
